Check back often to see if it's been posted. STHA had a display at the 2008 San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo February 1 - 10 STHA had a display at the 2007 San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo February 2 - 11 The rodeo was a great success this year. A BIG thanks to all of the members that took time out of their busy schedules to cover the event. A SPECIAL THANK YOU goes to Jeff for taking vacation time to be there the entire week and giving lectures on snake education and safety. "THANK YOU JEFF!" STHA ran the concession stand at the Texas Reptile Expo on March 3rd and 4th, 2007. We had a good time at the March 3-4, 2007 Reptile Expo in San Antonio. Even though we were spread a little thin, we were able to run our educational display of the 15 venomous snakes of Texas and run the raffle. STHA also ran the conessions stand. We will find out if the concession stand is worth doing again at the April meeting. Thanks to the members that were able to come out and help. A special thanks to Lynne for setting up the concession stand, to Cam and Brenda for bringing the venomous collection, and to Jon for bringing some of the non-venomous snakes of Texas. The STHA spring campout was April 20th - 22th, 2007. Check back for a report on this field trip. For more information of our field tripa please click on the link below field trips STHA Houston Zoo trip STHA is going to the Houston Zoo on October 10, 2009 STHA is chartering a bus to take members and their guests to the Zoo. Seating is limited, so get your reservations in early! The club will pay the admission for all paid up members, but the guests must pay their own way. Pack a brown bag lunch, and your drinks for the trip there and back. WE WILL BE MEETING AT THE " BASS PRO" PARKING LOT LOCATED AT "THE RIDGE" SHOPPING DEVELOPMENT WHICH IS AT I-10 AND 1604 THE BUS WILL BE ARRIVING AT 4:30AM AND DEPARTING AT 5:00AM ON THE 10TH OF OCTOBER 09 If you want to attend, contact Pete Mimikos at mimikos1@gvtc.com back to top Items are needed for the meetings door prizes and for raffle items. We have almost run out of items for our monthly raffle and door prize drawings. What we ask is that each person coming to the meetings bring and item or two to donate to the raffle or door prize bank. The raffle is one of the ways we raise money to support the Association and everyone loves to win a door prize. We also need articles for The Hissing Post We need articles for the newsletter. If you have written a Herp related article and would like it published in The Hissing Post please submit it. If the article is from a news paper or magazine, please make sure to include the source name and issue or publication date, (i.e. San Antonio Express News Nov, 28, 2005 or Ladies Home Journal Oct, 2004.) The club provided the Turkey and Ham. Members brought lots of side dishes. There were several guests in attendance as well as lots of the clubs members. Fun was had by all and the club raised much needed money.
