Many of our animals derive their names from peculiarities in their neonate patterns. This animal was no exception. Jig was named for the rather abstract pattern of a dancing man that was present on the head (see the hatchling photo to the left). Jig appears as though she may have the most complete stripe out of all of the babies in the 2002 Haley - Linnaeus clutch.

Jig is sibling to Floyd, and therefore has a 66% chance of carrying the gene for albinism. Needless to say, she will play a role in the development of the albino project.
