This evening we had a field trip to the Camp Rockmont Nature Center in Black Mountain. Mike Beaver is the one who runs the place! It was good to see him, it's been quite a while. :)

The turtle tub had one active Reeves turtle and two reclusive turtles I never
saw.

| The yellow timber rattler is a lawnmower injury, now in recovery. |

| One day when Michael came in, he noticed what he thought was something regurgitated on the rock in the cage - but it was a litter of baby timbers! He suspects they are from the black timber, as the yellow one was so injured. |

He was waiting until after our meeting to release them all back in their native territory. There's still time for them to get to their hibernaculum.
After a delightful and interesting evening, some of us decided it was bedtime.
Thanks to Mike Beaver and the Camp Rockmont Nature Center for hosting our meeting this month!
