Pseudechis pailsei
This species is very similar to the Mulga Snake and should be regarded as extremely dangerously venomous. The status of this species is unclear, and has been the subject of much debate.
The genera Cannia and Pailsus have been used for "False King Brown Snakes,and the species names of weigeli and others have been used for varieties of this snake.
The form pictured has been called "weigeli"
