West Texas

I moved to West Texas (Alpine) from the North  TX area in 1991 to attend school at Sul Ross State University.  Coming from the big city, I was surprised to see how nice folks were in Alpine.  Everyone waves at you and acts like they know you. The scenery is a photographers dream. The climate if you ask me, is the best in the country. When its 100 degrees during the day, it drops into the 70's-60's at night. If you enjoy wildlife, photography, mountain biking, hunting (not much fishing unfortunately), running or just getting away from people,  you couldn't find a better place. West Texas has some of the most isolated locations in the country. Although I now live in the Hill Country, I still live close enough to go visit when I like. Below are some pictures that I have taken over the years at various locations in West Texas. Click on the thumbnails to see the full sized versions.
