I
have been interested in locality snakes for many years now. Back in '95
when I first headed out to Texas to hunt for Alterna it became apparent
to me that I was not the only one that was into locality animals. I
have tried very hard to keep my animals as pure as possible by not
breeding just a good looking animal to another good looking animal. It
takes two or more generations usually for offspring to start looking
really nice, off course there are some exceptions. There are many
animals that I have where there is no locale data like all my Central
and South American Milksnakes. If I were to obtain locality animals
from these locations then I would replace them.
The other thing that really turns me on are morphs. I just love
albinos, anerythristics, hypos, aberrant patterns etc.... Now the
ultimate animal in my book is a morph that is locality. I have a few
and are always looking for more. If I am unsure of a certain animal or
group of animals then I will just sell them as the are (no locale).
Every locality animal that I have came right from the wild, caught by
myself, one of my close friends or by a very, very reputable breeder.
I hope you enjoy this page and if I only give the county, it's because
that's all I know for certain or I want to keep my exact locale to
myself.

GRAY BANDED KINGS (ALTERNA)
Starting in the east: (Val Verde County).
Comstock, Langtry and Lozier cyn all on Hwy 90.
Pandale dirt: just out of Langtry. Stock from Aaron Mattson.
Hwy 277:I have several animals from 277. The road is so long that
Alterna hunters have split it to south of Loma Alta or north of Loma.
Also you will see big cutts, red bluff, picnic area, gas station
etc..... These are all little sub locales that don't mean much to most
people but mean everything to us. If I catch a animal close to the
picnic area I will try to catch or buy a mate from the same area (give
or take about three miles either way). Stock from Aaron Mattson, Adam
Sweetman, Dave Long, Dave Dougherty and Dan Johnson.
Hwy 674: I have a pair of first
generation animals that I bought from Bob Montoya. They were collected
by Ed Nagelmeyer and Richard Mcnabb. These animals are from Kinney
County.
Juno Road: I have some w/c animals
from Juno Road (the dbl S curves) that produce anerythristic animals.
These are some of my favorites. Stock from Martin Binns.
