Davis
Mountains
In 1901 A. E. Brown described a peculiar snake collected by a Mr. E. Meyenberg
in the Davis Mountains of west Texas. Ophibolus alternus was to be the first type specimen of the species we now recognize as Lampropeltis alterna. These scenic elevations cool quickly at night making alterna rare and/or difficult to collect. I'm currently working with wild caught and F1 animals with verifiable history. Boy Scout Road, Limpia Canyon and Hwy. 118 localities will be offered.
