Basic info on Trimeresurus trigonocephalus;

Is found in forested areas on Sri Lanka.
Males are (usually) more blue in color and the females are (usually) more green.
Average length around 70 cm. Maximum up to 110cm. (Or even 130 cm? Have seen both figures).

I have seen statements from people saying they are rather hot, but I do not know the sources for this. Seemingly contradicting this is the book "Clinical toxology of animal venoms and poisons" (editors J�rg Meier and Julian White). This is what is said about T trigonocephalus;

"Immediate pain and swelling, involving almost the entire bitten limb, are described. There may be local blistering but local necrosis, bleeding and clotting disturbances and other systemic symptoms have not been observed. Swelling subsides in a few days."

However, there are no specific antivenom availible for this species, so if you turn out to get bad reactions it might turn ugly...

Captive requirements are much like those for the white-lipped pit viper, Trimeresurus albolabris. Possibly somewhat higher moisture-levels.
