for heat i ussually use heat bulbs from like home depot or walmart they ussally work better than the bulbs that you buy from the pe shops. and you probably could safely hang a bulb in the tank. i hang all of my bulbls in side my tank but i use regular tanks with screen tops. i would just experiment until you can get the heat just right.
