You're probably thinking about Filial generations (degrees of decent from first generation)...
When the sellers on the classifieds are using 1.1, what they're refering to the sexes of the animals. 1st position is male, 2nd position is female, 3rd position is juvenile or unsexed. Ex. 1.2.5 would be 1 male, 2 females, 5 unsexed or juveniles.
