If you are importing without a license than you must be only importing non-C.I.T.E.S. animals. if you are importing C.I.T.E.S. animals I suggest you get your license as if they find out there is a fine of up to $5000 for illegal importation of C.I.T.E.S. without License. I can't tell you why they have not charged you the inspection fees because they are the same fees whether the animals are for personal use or commercial use.

:I am by Chicago and have imported monitors several times from Indonesia. I have never had to pay any kind of fee for the inspection, and I don't have or need an import license. These have all been for me, as I don't have any kind of business and I don't sell them, if that changes anything. -Jeff
