Venomous Snake Handling

More text will be added later!

The pictures down below are taken by my good friend Dexter B. On the pictures we show a safe way of bagging a 8,5 feet Black Mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis) male.

Materials used: 1 Midwest Gentle Giant Tong40", 1 Collapsible Gentle Giant Tong 40", Midwest Probagger, Midwest Tube set, 1 Midwest Snake bag.

In this enclosure live 3 adult Black mamba so we must be carefull and watch the other two constantly. The snake is gentle grabbed with the tong and pulled out of the enclosure.

The snake is grabbed by the tail for more control and placed in the probager.

When the snake is in the probager we first release our hands and make sure the snake is not curled around the tong before we let the snake go out of the tongs grip.

The Probagger is given some twists so it closes of and the snake cant crawl out of the bag. The rear end of the probagger has a sort of exit tube on the bottom of the bag this is used to place a tube on. The tong is placed at the end of the bag so the snake cant come out when we un tie the knot on the exit tube.

The tube is placed into the exit tube of the Probagger and a snakebag is placed on the otherside of the bag, so we can direct the snake true the tube into a snake bag for further transport.

Snakes always stick their heads in the corner of a bag and with some guiding the snake will crawl true the tube in to the transport bag.

When the snake is in the transport bag we place the lid on the tube, after that we use the tong to close the bag and can we pull out the tube on a safe way.

We turn the bag around the tong so it stays closed and now we can tie up the bag. When the snake is bagged its importend to hold the bag above the knot and away from your body with the tong. SNAKES CAN AND WILL BITE TRUE BAGS!!!
