Creek Lake area, Mt.       HABITAT:  All habitat areas in the Metroplex

      SUBSPECIES:  The eastern coachwhip [M. f. flagellum (Shaw, 1802)] is found in the eastern half of the Metroplex and the western coachwhip [M. f. testaceus (Say, 1823)] is found in the western part.

      COMMENTS:  The eastern and western coachwhips intergrade over much of the Metroplex with some specimens banded with dark reddish brown bands, especially in Wise and Denton Counties.
