      STATUS:  Common in western part of Metroplex

      LOCALITIES OBSERVED:  Hood Co.:  Comanche Park;  Johnson Co.:  Cleburne State Park and 8.1 mi S Cleburne;  Parker Co.:  5.4 mi N of Tx 171 on US 377 near Bear Creek, 1.9 mi E Aledo, and near Rio Brazos Estates S of Weatherford;  Somervell Co.:  .9 mi S of Glen Rose, Dinosaur Valley State Park, and 14 mi W of Rio Vista at Johnson Ranch;  Tarrant Co.:  Walnut Creek W of Benbrook, Bear Creek at US 377 bridge, Mustang Creek at Benbrook Lake, and below Eagle Mt. Lake dam

      DOCUMENTED COUNTIES:  Dallas, Hood, Johnson, Parker, Somervell, and Tarrant

      HABITAT:  Western Cross Timbers, Fort Worth Prairie, and Rolling Plains

      SUBSPECIES:  Texas Earless Lizard (C. t. texanus Troschel, 1850)
