Benbrook
DOCUMENTED COUNTIES: Denton,
Ellis, Hood, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise
HABITAT: Western Cross
Timbers, Fort Worth Prairie, Mesquite Grand Prairie, and Rolling Plains
COMMENTS: For most of the
year, spadefoots remain buried underground, awaiting heavy summer
rains during the months of May, June, and July which bring Couch's spadefoots
out of hiding in order to reproduce.
