      STATUS:  Common

      LOCALITIES OBSERVED:   Dallas Co.:  Duncanville areas;  Hood Co.:  Acton on FM 1192;  Somervell Co.:  Flat Top Ranch;  Tarrant Co.:  Benbrook-Aledo Road, Inspiration Point at Lake Worth, near Crowley, and southwest of Benbrook

      DOCUMENTED COUNTIES:  Denton, Ellis, Hood, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise

      HABITAT:  Western Cross Timbers, Fort Worth Prairie, Mesquite Grand Prairie, and Rolling Plains

      COMMENTS:  For most of the year, spadefoots remain buried underground, awaiting heavy summer rains during the months of May, June, and July which bring Couch's spadefoots out of hiding in order to reproduce.
