      STATUS:  Uncommon

      LOCALITIES OBSERVED:  Collin Co.:  SE corner, 2.5 mi NE of Farmersville, and 4 mi E of Westminister;  Dallas Co.:  Mt. Lebanon encampment, Mt. Creek Lake area, Hard Rock Rd. at Rock Island Rd., Irving, near Seagoville airport, and Dallas Nature Center;  Hood Co.:  3 mi N of Thorp Spring and 6 mi S of Brazos River on FM 2580;  Johnson Co.:  10 mi W of Cleburne;  Parker Co.:  5 mi N US 377 on county Rd. and 3.4 mi W of FM 2871 on FM 1024 (Aledo Rd.);  Somervell Co.:  .2 mi W of CR 2013;  Tarrant Co.:  Benbrook-Aledo Rd., Rocky Creek at Benbrook Lake, 3 mi W of Saginaw, Rockwood Park, and S of Arlington on FM 157;  Wise Co.:  Lyndon B. Johnson Nat'l Grasslands NW of Decatur

      DOCUMENTED COUNTIES:  Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hood, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise

      HABITAT:  Fort Worth Prairie, Mesquite Grand Prairie, Blackland Prairie, and Western Cross Timbers

      COMMENTS:  The Strecker's chorus frog used to be one of the most common frogs in the outer edges of the Metroplex.  It is a mystery why this species has declined as much as it has.
