      STATUS:  Abundant

      LOCALITIES OBSERVED:  Collin Co.:  2 mi W of Wylie, 2 mi E of Lucus, and 2.5 mi NE of Farmersville;  Dallas Co.:  Mt. Creek Lake area, Farmers Branch Creek at Josey Lane, Bachman Lake area, Cedar Hill area, .2 mi N of Texas Plume Rd on Boss Cope Rd;   Hood Co.:  .1 mi S FM 51 on FM 201 near Lollar Branch and along Tx 171;  Johnson Co.:  1.1 mi NNE Cleburne State Park, 3 mi N of Keene, and along Tx 171;  Kaufman Co.:  2.3 mi SE Kemp on US 175, 1.0 mi E of Tx 34 on Tx 243, and NE of Terrell, and E of Kaufman;  Parker Co.:  Lake Mineral Wells State Park, Rio Brazos Estates, 13.1 mi N of Cresson, and along Tx 171;  Somervell Co.:  1.3 mi W of Glen Rose, 14 mi W of Rio Vista at Johnson Ranch, and 12.1 mi S of Park Rd. 21 on US 67;  Tarrant Co.:  Hillridge Ct. in NW Arlington, Benbrook-Aledo Rd, FM 1024 near Benbrook, at Bell Helicopter Plant in Hurst, US 377 at Dutch Branch, Botanic Gardens in Trinity Park, Arlington area, and the Euless area;  Wise Co.:  Lyndon B.       HABITAT:  all habitats in the Metroplex

      SUBSPECIES:  East Texas Toad (B. w. velatus  Bragg & Sanders, 1951) and Woodhouse's Toad  (B. w. woodhousii Girard, 1854)

      COMMENTS:  Woodhouse's toad is in decline in some urban areas.  The east Texas toad has only been found in eastern Kaufman County.
