      STATUS:  Abundant

      LOCALITIES OBSERVED:  Dallas Co.:  Mt. Creek Lake area, Seagoville area, Sandy Lake Rd near Trinity River, and Coombs Creek above Beckley Av.; Johnson Co.:  7.9 mi S of Park Rd. 21 on US 67, 8.0 mi N of Tx 144 on US 67, 6.9 mi W of Cleburne on US 67, Cleburne State Park, and 8.1 mi S of Park Rd. 21 on US 67;  Parker Co.:  various county and state roads of southern part of county, Rio Brazos Estates, 2 mi NW of Wheatland, and Moncrief Ranch S of Weatherford;  Tarrant Co.:  Hillridge Ct. and River Legacy Parks in NW Arlington, near Clear Fork of the Trinity River bridge on US 377, Bear Creek 2 mi E of US 377 bridge, Euless area, and Valley Lane in Arlington 

      DOCUMENTED COUNTIES:  Dallas, Ellis, Hood, Kaufman, Johnson, Parker, Somervell, and Tarrant

      HABITAT:  Mesquite Grand Prairie, Blackland Prairie, Trinity River Bottoms, Eastern Cross Timbers, Cedar-Limestone Hills, Brazos River Bottoms, and the southern part of the Fort Worth Prairie 

      COMMENTS:  The gulf coast toad is most abundant in the southern half of the Metroplex and seems to be increasing in number.
