i believe this act is completely out of line!!! you are basically taking away our rights as private owners w/o just cause!! those of us who currently own animals that were not listed on this act prior to now are going to have our animals confiscated? i do not understand this...you have allowed us a small amount of priveledge to own certain animals until now...so what happens to those of us that have abided by the law entact up til now? this is so injust!! give guidelines, have animals registered so you can track them etc.ensuring they are cared for properly but do not take our rights away when we have been good law abiding citizens!!

I know many people with large collections of multiple species of pythons. If you apply the bill above to a reasonably large collection of say 100 animals would result in the following incremental cost:
100 x $25 pit tags = $2500
annual permit $250
Liability insurance for $1Million - estimated at an additional $50 (for existing homeowner)
Total $2800 without opportunity to offset expenses since you wont be able to sell any animals. This is of course not a viable option under the current hobbyist model.

this ban is completely out of hand.illinois always has to be the first and the hardest w/all new laws and bans...i thought we handled this as of jan.2011.you must own your primate by that date and it must be registered w/the county.for all of us that have abided by the laws and are good responsible pet owners-this is a sharp low blow!because not only are you back peddling your own law that just took effect last yr. but you are making all of us whom have purchased any exotic animals lawfully up to this point now where we are illegal owners!! plus you fail to mention what exactly the stipulations on what we must do to acquire a dangerous animal permit ora limited entry permit? why is that? because you intend to make it impossible to retrieve such a permit!!! this state is a joke and so are these laws.what do you intend to do to those of us who have purchased animals before this new law-abiding by the law that was current at the time of the purchase!!

IM NOT RUNNING A CRACK HOUSE,YOU WILL INVADE MY HOME AND TAKE MY ANIMALS WHEN I PURCHASED THEM ABIDING BY THE LAWS OF NOW? WRONG!!! SO UNJUST!!

hello-ive been doing some research on this new proposed bill.its really amazing that what,1 yr ago to register your monkey as it was grandfathered in-was $100 per yr.now, you must hope that you may get one of the two permits you offer which not only wants a $250 per yr fee now but you also expect the owner to obtain x amount of dollars in liability insurance on each and every animal that we own, which according to your act would maybe be a domestic cat or dog?then we must have our pet micro chipped.i can certainly understand guidelines for the safety of the public as well as the animal but as far as i know our pets are surely not welcome in public so why must we do all this?i can clearly understand the micro chip but explain to me how the registration fee in one yr jumped from $100 to $250 per yr when the $100 fee just went into effect last yr? i would think you would be more concerned that the animals are cared for properly and housed and fed accordingly.but then again you dont make money off those minimal details, right? also, why are we not allowed to breed "if" we get one of these permits? we are clearly paying the price...its our pet, correct? if they are only adopted to people w/permits or those who live in states w/agreeable laws-why are we not allowed to breed? if not for captive breeding-half the tiger population wouldnt exist because zoos so-called "breeding programs" are a failure!! why? because animals have to be happy, nourished and loved before they will reproduce-ive yet to go to any zoo and see animals that appeared to be content-but they are exempt from all of these legalities!! its pretty bad when my 8 yr old daughter told me the tiger was sad at our local zoo-i said,"i know,we will not be back here!! this bill is contradictive of the just last yrs provisions over primates-its completely unfounded!!

Can somone place links to the IL senetors, and anyone else whom should be contacted regarding these rediculous laws? I think it would be very helpful to have links to contact them, for everyone here, regardless which state they live in. I do not live in IL, but I damn sure will be writing them, as I urge EVERYONE to do, no matter where they live. Even if you don't live there, we all need to suppport those who do. This states laws WILL effect our own states if this stands. IT starts with one, and spreads. I would hope to have other defend my state! Some very ignorant people running IL! I am so sorry for those going through this.

go to www.ilga.gov then click "illinois general assembly" hpme page.on the left side in the upper box enter sb3264 and go.now scroll down and click the area that says agriculture and something else, then all the senators on the committee that will soon be viewing the bill will come up-click each name and itll give you all the contact info.do a letter-make copies and send one to every one of those senators on that committee! then call as many times as you possibly can EACH AND EVERY ONE AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN-if you have any trouble understanding that page please call me at 309-831-5786...PLEASE PASS ON THE INFORMATION!! anyone who needs direction on this can contact my number i will be happy to help!! WE HAVE ALL GOT TO BAND TOGETHER,GET A PLAN OF ACTION AND WORK TOGETHER!!! OTHERWISE WE ARE LOSING OUR ANIMALS-THIS IS MOVING QUICKLY FROM MY UNDERSTANDING AND IS VERY VERY FRIGHTENING-THEY ARE TRYING TO SQUEEZE US OUT W/ALL THESE EXPENSES THAT IS IF" YOU EVEN QUALIFY TO GET A DANGEROUS ANIMALS PERMIT-IF YOU WILL NOTE THEY DO NOT GIVE THAT INFORMATION!!
