Meet PH Faust

As a child, Cindy was a cat person. But that didn’t stop her from bringing home the garter snakes she would find in her yard, in spite of her mother’s fear of them. She inherited her first iguana in 1994. What she didn’t know hurt her and Logan as she proceeded to kill him following advice from local pet stores. Then through a friend of a friend, she managed a long distance call to California and learned exactly what she was doing wrong. Many years, books, websites and several rescues later her research into proper Iguana care hasn't stopped. In fact she has started expanding. She works diligently to help pet stores better educate their employees and customers on proper Iguana and general reptile care. She has created a care booklet and several pamphlets that a few stores in her area send along with new Iguanas. She helps facilitate a pet store rescue program as well as assists local humane societies with finding homes and caring for their reptiles. She also participates in educational events hosted by pet stores, humane societies, herpetological societies and the Milwaukee Public Museum.

Cindy is a member of the Chicago Herpetological Society, the CHS Iguana Squad and the State Coordinator for Wisconsin NIAD. Her day job is as a computer room operator/system support employee at a food wholesaler. She is currently owned by a loving fiancé who says "OK" when she comes home and tells him that a snake/lizard just followed her home for 40 miles while she traveled down the highway, 3 rescued iguanas (Damien, an adult female, Curly, an adult male, and the littlest and angriest of her outlaws, Ashole, an adult male), Chewy, a rescued female water dragon, the retired breeder Blue Tongue Skinks (Bret and Rikki the boys and C*C* and Bobby the Girls), 2 rescued Ball Pythons (BIG Bertha an adult female, and Sparky, an adult male), an albino bull snake, 10 or so freshwater fish, snails and crayfish, and the rotating stock of house plants that are doomed to short lives.

For a few days every summer she gets to let her hair down and become owned by the band Poison as she tours the Midwest to see them. She dedicates her continuing efforts at husbandry education on reptiles, most specifically Iguanas, to Logan and Faust who already crossed the rainbow bridge and the others who she has tried to save, sometimes with success and sometimes without, but a whole lotta tears.
