This is my on line journal for the 2000 - 2001 breeding season.

 | September 7
 | Cleaned out tanks completely. Found 4 eggs buried in the sand, dried
and dead. Not sure how long they have been there, perhaps a few weeks or
months. Will now start watching for eggs from this season. |
 | Berger is isolated from the other geckos. She has a large bump on the
top of her head. She is sneezing and breathing fast. She has an
appointment with the vet Sept 13th. |
 | Will be looking in to buying full grown, adult females this month for
breeding with Nobby and Gex. Want 3 females with each male. Baby from
last year is too small to breed. Will wait until next year to breed her.
Will be looking for 3 females for breeding. |
 | Incubator is set up this week. |
|
 | October 8
 | Have 3 females coming to me next week, 1 stripe, 2 normal phase. Will
put them in with Nobby for breeding. These females are wild caught. This
will be a first for us. We will have to watch and see how docile they
are as wild caught rather then captive breed. |
 | We changed the tanks around. Gex (male), is in with Gomez (striped),
Sticky, and Tipsy (all females), in a 20 gallon. Nobby will be with the
3 new ladies in a 20 gallon. Berger and one baby we kept from last year
are together, in a 15 gallon, they will not breed this year at all. |
 | We are using human heating pads (the kind you can get at target) with
4 settings for temp as the under-tank heat source. It is cheaper and we
seem to have more control over the temp this way. |
 | Bergers trip to the vet. We took Berger to the vet to get the
large, hard bump that was on her head looked at. The vet broke open the
skin over the bump and found a large absest. He cleaned it out and gave
her antibiotics, now we are just waiting for her to shed a few more
times to insure it is healed up all the way. |
